1. This week we talked about the different kinds of technology that we use in the classroom. We talked about things like computers we use and tablets but also things like the websites such as Kahoot and jam board to use for lessons to help improve learning. We then moved on to talking about simulations and their benefits of them like they are more cost-effective, accessible, easier to run, and safer. We then moved on to talking about AI programs that you can bring into the classroom and ones like chat GPT that write stuff for you and then talked about AI generators that generate images. Using that this week we wrote a story on evolution and used AI to generate images for it.
2. I was able to relate what I learned to what I already knew because I knew a little bit about AI generators. I knew about chat GPT and that software but I did not know about the AI generators that can generate images and I did not think about the idea of using these generators in the classroom and for the purpose of learning. I always hear about these generators in a negative light and never in a good way for improving learning.
4. I applied what I learned about the AI generators and I can use that to help guide future lesson plans that I make for my classroom. I will try and find ways to incorporate these kinds of generators into my future lessons because they are the future and it can be useful to structure things around them as a result.
Hi John! I enjoyed reading your post. I also have really only thought about the negatives from AI programs, and found it interesting and important to focus on the advantages and benefits from using these programs.

ReplyDeleteI like how you mentioned that you usually hear negative comments about AI technology and I agree with that. It was nice to see first hand how to use AI in a positive way. I also plan on learning more about AI and seeing how I can integrate it in to my future classroom.

Hi John! I really liked your storybook. We did a similar plot for our book (a dinosaur to a chicken) and it was really interesting to learn about! I also liked learning about the AI programs that we used during class. I had never used something like it before, so it was nice to be able to try it out and think what it would be like to use in the classroom.
